Installation Steps: Step 1: Shut off the water supply to the tub/shower. Step 2: Remove the knob center cap&knob, slide off the outside sleeve. Step 3: Remove the brass bonnet .(try by hand firstor gently use channel-lock pliers) Step 4: Remove the old cartridge, clean the sediment and debris in the pipeline Step 5: Insert the new cartridge, thread and tighten the brass bonnet (If you remove the backing plate, clean the old caulk away and clean all parts) Step 6: Slide the outer sleeve back on, replace the backing plate and install it in place.
